FEIGENBAUM RECEIVES AMERICA'S HIGHEST TECHNOLOGY AWARD IN WHITE HOUSE CEREMONY

Dr. Armand V. Feigenbaum, President and CEO of General Systems company, today
received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the nation's highest
honor for technological achievement, from President George Bush in a ceremony at
the White House. General Systems is an engineering firm that designs and
installs systems for improved quality and management effectiveness in companies
throughout the world. |
Noted as an hands-on engineer and innovator, Dr. Feigenbaum is the originator of Total Quality
Management, the approach to quality and profitability that has profoundly
influenced management technology strategies and productivity improvement
initiatives throughout the world. The several editions of his famous book, Total
Quality Control, have been published in more than twenty languages.
Dr. Feigenbaum has also helped set a new direction for innovation in management technology for the
twenty-first century with his latest book, The Power of Management Capital,
co-authored with his brother, Dr. Donald S. Feigenbaum. This work, which both
extends and complements the concepts of Total Quality Management provides a
basic guidepost for effective business and enterprise focus upon technology and
innovation that meets the demands of today's global market environment.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree from Union College, Dr. Feigenbaum attended the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, where he received his Masters and Ph.D. degrees. He has
also received numerous honorary degrees and awards both domestically and
internationally during his distinguished career. Dr. Feigenbaum continues to be
active and play a personal role, through his company, in helping corporate
leaders apply his principles for achieving profitability and customer value. For

SQC (WR) is very pleased to inform all
our members of Dr. Ayed T. Al-Amri, Saudi Quality Council (WR) Director, being
honored with the appointment of Chairman-Elect of Middle East Quality
Association (MEQA) for the year 2008 and appointed Chairman for 3 years.
Dr. Ayed Al-Amri was further
appreciated for his contributions to the success of Quality Movement in
Saudi Arabia in particular and broader
Middle East and Arab World in general. Dr. Ayed received an
Appreciation Plaque on behalf of Dubai E-TQM for his contributions in the success of MEQA
during the 2nd MEQA Annual Congress.
We take this opportunity to thank Dr. Ayed Al-Amri for his leadership, commitment and the dedication to the
cause of promoting Quality in Saudi Arabia through Saudi Quality Council (WR)
and across all the GCC and Middle East Countries.

Congress with the focal theme: Creating Architecture of Quality, and Excellence
in the Middle East: Responsibilities, Challenges and Strategies.
We would like to keep the continuity of the participation
that we had from Saudi Arabia in the 1st MEQA Congress and come
forward to share our experiences on the subject. We would like to reflect the
work that is being conducted in
Saudi Arabia, both from academic research and
also from practitioners who can talk about applications and examples of best
practices. SQC (WR) in its capacity as one of the founder member of MEQA &
representing Saudi Arabia in MEQA Invites you to take the initiative by
utilizing this opportunity to present at the congress. Please review the

This is to inform our Members that preparations of the First
Middle East Quality Association (MEQA) Annual Congress (MAC), to take place in Dubai in March 25 – 27, 2007 are gaining momentum now.
MEQA Annual Congress will be blessed with the presence of many prominent names
including Dr. Val Feigenbaum who will be giving the inaugural keynote address
for the conference. In addition, we are expecting Dr. Chris Aubrey,
ex-President of ASQ and ex-President of APQO, Spencer Hutchins, Chairman of
IAQW, Dr. Yoshio Kondo from Japan, amongst many other prominent and eminent
figures.
We would like to reflect the work that is being conducted in Saudi Arabia, both from academic research and
also from practitioners who can talk about applications and examples of best
practices. SQC (WR) in its capacity as one of the founder member of MEQA &
representing Saudi Arabia in MEQA Invites you to take the initiative by
utilizing this opportunity to present at the congress. We are expecting to have around 10
papers submitted from Saudi Arabia.
