LATEST NEWS ON THE LAST TECHNICAL MEETING
SQC (WR) KICKS-OFF THE 2008 - 2009 YEAR ACTIVITIES WITH THE REVIEW OF "ISO
9000:2008-9 STANDARDS".
The 1st SQC Technical Meeting for the start of SQC Year 2008 - 2009 (SQC
usually starts after Summer Vacation and beginning of Schooling Calendar) was
conducted by Eng. Mohammed Asim Baig, Group Business Improvement Consultant –
Abdullah Fouad Holding.
The Title of the Presentation was “New ISO 9001:2008-9 Standard. The
presentation was well received by the attendees. The speaker started his
presentation with background of the standard and the process it goes through for
revisions. A step-by-step detail of the different working committees of ISO was
covered in the Presentation and all changes that are in the final draft status
for the ISO 9001:2008 were briefed along with the impact that they may have on
current revision.
A plaque of thanks was given to Eng. M. Asim Baig by Dr. Ayed on behalf of
SQC (WR). Dr. Ayed T. Al-Amri delivered the opening speech along with a brief
presentation on SQC’s Plan for “Celebrating SQC’s 1st National Quality Week
(November 8 – 14, 2008) [NQW 2008]”. The response from the attendees was very
positive and encouraging. Dr. Ayed urged all Members to join the SQC (WR) in
their efforts to make the planned Celebration of NQW 2008 a grand success.
